Trip to China

I took my first trip to China this month, landing in Hong Kong to source new fabrics for my upcoming collections...

Here we are exploring Kowloon, Hong Kong. It was typhoon season so the weather was rainy and super humid...

Night shot of Hong Kong before a typhoon hit...

Second part of the trip was a visit to Hangzhou, China. Here is a factory that develops silk garments for me...

A cutting room in the silk factory. Thank God there were no children sewing! We were actually impressed with how clean and well lit the space was. Much cleaner than the factories in downtown LA...

Silk factory sewers...

Going over some samples in development for Spring 2010 collection...

Ashley and I discussing sample details with Irene and Kiki...

We checked out the dye house that makes my prints and jersey burnouts...

These are the screens they use to make the prints...

Personal gym in our room in Hangzhou!

Hmmm maybe the gym equipment can be a belt!

Finally our trip concluded and we said goodbye to our hosts Irene and Robert. It was a great trip! We learned a great deal about the production process overseas.
